If you're like me and you're fed up with the status quo, think the Democrats don't care about you except for your money, your time and your vote pledge, then I have an (in)action for you to consider.
DON'T TELL THEM SH!T WHEN THEY CALL!
Follow me over the orange julep for more on this exciting course of inaction.
Campaigns gauge the success or lack thereof on their message in part by phone bank calls. They ask you to contribute, try to get you to volunteer, etc. and based on your response, they look at the data and see if they're trending up, down, or sideways, and adjust the message accordingly.
I don't give a flying flip about the message. I want ACTION!
And by wanting action, I suggest a course of inaction. I am talking about inactivism, something which has not been tried on a massive scale to date.
We've had sit-ins, marches, occupations, riots, and even insurrections around the world. Riots and insurrections are not likely to be effective in the surveillance state these days, but they can't stop us if we do NOTHING.
And by nothing I don't mean I want nothing. I have specific demands. When they call, I say the following to them:
I will not work for, donate, volunteer, or vote for, any candidate whose behavior benefits the 1% over the 99%.
Actions like donating your surveillance equipment to the police doesn't really stand out as supporting the 99% if you know what I mean. Actions like letting my bank steal my home don't exactly tell me you are with me on the whole bankster thing.
I also will not donate, volunteer, or vote for, any candidate whose behavior benefits the Military Industrial Complex and Security State over the objections of the people.
Get out of Afghanistan. Just. Get. Out. Stay out of IRAN. Oh, and stay the hell out of my email, my Facebook page, and my phone records.
Is that so hard to do? All you have to do is NOTHING, like me. On this subject, take a page from my book and do less, candidate, way less.
But bumping your gums is going to get you bupkis. Just like it got me. Sauce for the goose and all that. Tell your consultants I said that along with a big wet smooch, promising them I'll get around to that donation next election.
On the other hand, if your candidate's BEHAVIOR, not his or her promises, indicate to me that these demands are met, I will reconsider my inaction.
Just to the that people don't misunderstand, when it comes time to vote, please do vote. I'm not saying don't participate in our so called democracy. I'm saying don't pre-capitulate. Politicians love for you to pledge your allegiance so they aren't accountable in any way.
I was asked to re-up for Obama LAST YEAR. Come on. Are you kidding me? NO, I'M NOT IN YET! There's still like eight months to go, plenty of time for ACTION, and also plenty of time for me not to answer the phone.
So Follow Me, or don't and DON'T DO SHIT! INACTIVISM, BABY!
